WOOSTER Cheryl R. Bash, 73, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home.
She was born September 5, 1944 in Wooster the daughter of Ruth Grossman Weirick and Alvin Weirick. She married Richard Bash on June 24, 1961. He survives.
Cheryl was a 1962 graduate of Wooster High School and had been a pre-school teacher for 25 years retiring in 2002. She was a member of the First Church of God on Akron Road. Cheryl enjoyed scuba diving and was a member of the Wooster Seahorse Scuba Club, she enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes, floristry, sewing and had volunteered for the American Red Cross for 20 years and for many other local organizations.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children, Elizabeth (Daniel) McCarthy of Alexandria, and Tammy (John) Barrington of Wooster; grandchildren, Storm, Heath and Garrett; her siblings, Jeanette (Roy) Schlabach of Apple Creek, Jeannie (Charlie) Chapman and Alida Carter both of Wooster.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Clifford, Wally, Harland, Nelson and Alvin Weirick and sisters, baby June Weirick and Lauranna Jackie Foxx and a brother-in-law Harry Carter.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of God, 1953 Akron Rd., Wooster with Pastor Ken Thomas officiating. Private family burial will be held.
