MILLERSBURG – Cory Verle œScotty  Campbell (Avonmore, Ont.) died peacefully on March 2, 2017. Scotty always said œto have a friend, you have to be a friend.  He gave his quick smile, friendship, concern, and humor generously. He was born on June 18, 1922 after his twin brother David Vernon Campbell at the family farm in Avonmore, Ontario; Canada.
At age two, his family moved to Oakfield, New York, where he became a paperboy, US Citizen, and an Eagle Scout.   After graduating from Oakfield High School in 1939, he earned a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering at SUNY-Alfred in 1943 where he owned Scotty ™s Books, the campus used-book store. He joined the war effort as a radio officer in the US Maritime Service (Merchant Marine), serving on 3 separate Liberty ships from 1944-1946. He and Ellen Lucille Dickinson married in 1947 in Rochester NY.  
Scotty worked as a salesman, plant manager and Ex. V-P of ceramic manufacturing companies in New Jersey, West Virginia, Indiana and Ohio. Campbell settled in Wooster in 1963 and retired to Lake Buckhorn in 1986.
He is survived by his three children: Craig Campbell (Keystone Heights, FL), Corrin Campbell (Ten Eyck “ Boulder, CO) and Candace Campbell (Seck- St. Paul, MN), five grandchildren: Christin Campbell, Caitlin Campbell, Colin Campbell, Ailsa Ten Eyck Bier and Cory Ten Eyck.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ellen Lucille Campbell and his twin brother David Vernon Campbell (Orange, TX).
He enjoyed life in many areas including fraternal clubs, Lake Buckhorn (Millersburg, OH), Clark Presbyterian Church, Faith Presbyterian Church (Keystone Heights, Florida) and ALS Millersburg GreenRidge Residence. He is much loved and will be greatly missed by all.
Family will hold a private ceremony.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
