WOOSTER – Dale L. ZIMMERMAN, 78, of Wooster passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 at his home.
He was born June 13, 1930 in Wayne Co. son of Fred C. and Edna Maurer Zimmerman.
He had been a truck driver for J. M. Smucker Co for more than 30 years and was a Chester Twp. Trustee for 15 years. He was an active member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, a member of the Loco Friends Group and also the men’s group at the church.
Surviving are wife, Marian Bishop Zimmerman, whom he married July 22, 1950; his children Gary (Deb) Zimmerman of Wooster, Craig (Charlene) Zimmerman of Jeromesville, Todd Zimmerman of Wooster, Cheryl (Howard) Carter of Fayetteville, NC, Lisa (Robert) Keiffer of Newark, Sandra (Tom) Hicks of Dalton, Fred (Hannah) Zimmerman of Stafford, VA; 19 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Nolt of Smithville and Ruby (Harold) Reddick of Wooster.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark Zimmerman, a sister, Donna Robison and a brother Don Zimmerman.
Services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Monday, February 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mel Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in the the New Pittsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, February 1, 2009 from 1-4:00 P.M.
