Daniel S. Dalrymple, 82, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Wayne County Care Center, in Wooster.
He was born April 2, 1939 in Mt. Vernon the son of Joseph and Dorothy Ross Dalrymple. On August 20, 1960 he married Karen Sue Grim. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2001.
Daniel had worked for AEP as a lineman up until his retirement in 1994 after 27 years of employment. He loved sailing, and reloading and shooting. He was a past member of several shooting ranges in Wayne County. Daniel was a member of the Apple Creek United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his children Scott (Joni) Dalrymple of Ohio, Bradley Dalrymple of Florida, and Leigh Frontz of Florida; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; and a sister Lois Hanger of Florida.
In addition to his wife and parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Dalrymple.
There will be no services.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  2. With prayers and deepest sympathy for the family. Dan was a good friend for many many years. He graduated with my husband in 1957. Played cards with him and Karen for many years.

I am so sorry to see that Dan has passed and I hope you can Rejoyce in the fact that there is no more pain, discomfort fear and is spending the rest of the last 24 hours reuniting with his family. I am sending positive energy and prayers to help you through the next days, weeks and years. Dan was a good man and I think he would do just about anything for anyone, grinning all the way. He fixed a porch guard rale for me years ago. You all were as blessed with him, and he has been with you.

  4. Sincere condolences to Dan’s family. Dan and I met at Wooster High School and dated for some time following my graduation in 1959. We had some good times, thanks to his humor and caring. Blessings and Peace to you all.

  13. Heart Felt Condolences to the Dalrymple Family on the passing of Dan. Dan was instrumental on helping the younger employees at Wooster Ohio Power of learning the electric trade and the Safety of handling extreme high voltage. Reason we “newbies” retired alive. With other outside interest of sailing the Great Lakes with Karen, producing a great garden, cooking meals, computers and a mechanic but most of all loving his Family and America. Dan was proud of the Family Scottish Heritage could make friends with a stranger in 5 minutes. Will miss Dan and his great smile. Harry Morris, Ohio Power 1967-2006
