WOOSTER – Daniel S. Miller, 86, died Sunday afternoon March 30, 2008 at home after a years illness.
Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 P.M. at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Fryburg Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Alan E. Nathan officiating.
He was born in Baltic, Ohio on March 9, 1922 the youngest son of Samuel A. and Sarah Troyer Miller. On January 3, 1947 he married his wife of 61 years, Kathryn L. Speelman Miller, in the Benton Lutheran Church by the Rev. Knox R. Roberts. She survives.
He joined the Benton Lutheran Church and transferred to the Zion Lutheran Church in Wooster after moving to Wayne County. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the V.F.W. of Wooster and D.A.V. of Canton.
He worked at the Hercules Motors in Canton before and after 39 months in the Army Air Force during WWII. He spent 36 months in the Bismark Archipelago, New Guinea, South Phillippine Liberation and Leuzon. He later farmed in Holmes County and North of Wooster and after retiring from farming, he worked for Coca Cola and Automatic Vending Company for 24 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sisters Lovina Sterling of Fredericksburg, Mary Miller of Canton and Emma Garber of Barrs Mills.
Preceding him death besides his parents was a sister, Sara Ogle and brothers, Joni, Abner and John Miller.
