WOOSTER – Darold D. BURGIN, 78, of Wooster, died Friday, December 14, 2007 at his home.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster, OH, on Monday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John Heavilin officiating.
Born January 13, 1929 in Burlington, IA, he was the son of Edgar and Elsa Oberman Burgin.
After serving over 30 years with the Y.M.C.A., he retired as executive director of the Wooster Y.M.C.A. He was a member of the Parkview Church of Christ. Former member of Wooster Rotary, I.M.C., Y.M.C.A. retirees. He was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyn College and had attended George Williams College.
Surviving are his children David (Ericka) Burgin of Wooster, Jennifer (Charles) Gadsby of Fredericksburg and Tim Burgin of Fredericksburg; grandchildren Wade Howard of Wooster, Tiffany Howard of Dayton, Sarah Jones of Wooster and Grace Burgin of Wooster; great-grandson Jimmy D. Jones, III; brother, Thomas Burgin of Burlington, IA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Gutman Burgin, in 1999 whom he married March 15, 1953, a granddaughter Heather Burgin and a sister Shirley Yates.
