Condolences

I have such fond memories of David. As a kid, I thought Aunt Mabel and he had the best laughs. I was reminded of that when I last saw David at Tom Shamp’s memorial. I was standing with him and Zeke talking about family gatherings at the Ox Roast. We were laughing and sharing stories. It’s sad to think there are so few Zimmermans of that generation left. I hope memories provide comfort to all who loved him.

To Dave's Family and Friends, Our deepest sympathies go out to you. May God, and the many good memories, sustain you; now and also in the future.. Our thoughts and prayers are for you and your families. Sincere condolences from Art Beerys, Smithville, Ohio

Dave & I met through business, but became good friends. Prior to the pandemic, I would visit him on a regular basis at West View. I will miss him. He was a good man

Thank you for your service. Condolences to the family. The Wooster Wayne Chapter of the DAR

I had the honor of knowing and caring for Dave at Westview and this is such a heartbreaking loss. Dave was such a light and one of the best people I have ever met and I am honored to have been able to be a part of his life and care for him. He will be missed immensely and thoughts and prayers go out to his niece, nephew, and many friends.

Prayers and thoughts with Dave’s family. We will remember the many years seeing Dave at Village Market and his smile, laughter and jokes:) We are blessed to have known him!

Dave’s smiling face will be missed by the many people that knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with them and with Dave’s niece and nephew.

I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We became friends when I came to Smithville in 1979 as pastor of St Paul's Lutheran Church. I remember the almost daily meetings over coffee, solving the problems of the world. We stayed in touch through the years. Goodbye, my friend. Go with God.

We had many good times with David. Many times we would call and say were going to eat and did he want to go. Most of the time it was yes. David and I worked on the Park committee together for 6 or 7 years. We organized many fundraisers. We helped acquire the Scheller purchase of approximately 16 acres. for the Park. He will be missed. Rest In Peace my friend.

I am honored to have met David when I moved to West View in the Fall of 2018. I enjoyed his company very much and will truly miss his charm and humor. My sincere condolences to his family.

Dear Jeff, Patrice, Jill and Sonny
Sending our thoughts and prayers in the loss of Dave. He was always a bundle of energy and had a good heart. I'm so sorry that you've lost your uncle. He was a good friend of my mom and dad and of our family, as were Jackie and Mike. Our hearts go out to you.

We are lifting our prayers for the comfort of Dave's family and friends, especially Wilma Hartzler to whom we owe our thanks for introducing us to Dave at her home on Dec. 13, 2013. Since then, we enjoyed many rich conversations with Dave who always welcomed us warmly. Even as a resident of West View HL with failing health, Dave showed us how a man of faith in God could smile and make the best of life until it was his time to "slip the surely bonds of Earth" for the better Place. We are among friends who miss him dearly.

Our "Zimmerman " tile work will be a lasting memory of a very fine craftsman and most interesting individual. You could always count on Dave for a perfect job and great conversation. Always told him there was something "squirrelly" about him. (inside joke that only those who knew him would understand). We were blessed to know Dave both as a one of the best with tile, as well as a class gentleman .

I remember Dave Because He was my neighbor
