BURBANK – David Reed, 76 of Burbank, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Wooster Community Hospital.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster, OH, Tuesday 6:30 -900 PM. and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Services will be held at the Red Haw United Methodist Church, Wednesday Jan 9, 2008, at 11:00 AM. with the Rev. John Crouse officiating. Interment will follow in Red Haw Cemetery. Those who wish may contribuite to the Red Haw United Methodist Church Memorial Fund 1101 Twp Rd 175 Polk, Oh., 44866 in his memory.
Born February 6, 1931 in Red Haw, he was the son of Arthur and Mary Smith Reed. He served his country in the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Red Haw United Methodist Church and of the Farm Bureau.
He was a founder of Reed Trucking Co.in 1955 and continued to work with his sons over the years. Surviving are his wife of 54 years Barbara Chirdon Reed, children & spouses Terri & Philip Siders of Dalton, Cindi & Scott Firebaugh of Burbank, Kevin & Robbi Reed of Burbank, Lisa & William Opie of Apple Creek, and Brett & Helen Reed of West Salem, Brothers & Sisters Catherine & Wilbur Funk of Ashland, Paul & Betty Reed of Red Haw, Pauline & Miles Crumley of West Salem, Betty Hottel of West Salem, Keneth & Shirley Reed of Ashland, Ada & Ray Kruger of Tallmadge, Denny & Joyce Reed of Red Haw, Howard & Barb Reed of West Salem, and Marilyn & Keith Switzer of Tenn., 13 Grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons Scott and Brad Allen Reed, and Brothers Ivan and Lawrence, and a grandson Kent Reed.
