Debbie Kay Craft Bloch, a Wooster resident for seven years, died peacefully amongst family in Wooster, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.  She was born to Anita Beaumont Craft and Clay Craft on November 4, 1947, in Plainfield, New Jersey.  Debbie lived with her mother and stepfather, Edward Knitter, when attending junior high school in Grand Junction, Colorado and Westwood High School in Washington Township, New Jersey.  Debbie performed in school and community plays.  She was a skilled skier when living in Colorado and was selected Miss Washington Township when living in New Jersey.

Debbie graduated from Ithaca College and married Bruce Bloch, who she started dating in high school.  She taught elementary school in the Syracuse (New York) school system.  While living in northeastern Bergen County, New Jersey, she had three children, worked as a receptionist for several doctors and worked as a unit secretary at Pascack Valley Hospital.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother to eight grandchildren.  She attended Pascack Bible Church and the Hillsdale United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Westwood Junior Women’s Club.  She loved dogs, especially standard poodles.  She was an avid college basketball fan.

Debbie is survived by many who love her, including her husband Bruce; her children Darren Bloch, Erica Bloch Mathur and Lauren Bloch Newman and her grandchildren Hudson Bloch, Britton Bloch, Kolson Bloch, Sophia Mathur, Ava Mathur, Brielle Newman, Makayla Newman and Raven Newman.  She is also survived by her loving half-brothers and sisters Janet Craft Jared, Patty Craft Satterfield, Sue Craft Davis, Charles Craft and John Craft.  Also surviving are her loving sister-in- law, Bonnie Bloch; loving daughter-in-law, Kristy Federico Bloch; loving sons-in-law, Dr. Kevin Mathur, Keith Newman; and loving cousin, Dr. Robert Beaumont.

The family is comforted by the expressions of concerns and prayers expressed by so many, and knowing that she will be in eternal comfort and peace with the Lord.  We are also comforted in knowing that Debbie will be reunited in Heaven with her mother, Anita, who she loved with all her heart.

I was so sad to read this in The Record here in New Jersey. I worked with Debbie at Pascack Valley Hospital many years ago. She was delightful. Such a beautiful smile and lovely laughter. Debbie was a no-nonsense hard worker, but she kept it fun. My condolences to her family. Sweet Debbie. May she Rest In Peace

Debbie was like a sister to me up through kindergarten. We lived in the same house with Anita and Clay and later Ed with our grandmother"nanny". Debbie, a year ahead of me, walked me to school my first day of kindergarten. My memories are of Clay being very nice to me, and then no one has ever had a better aunt and uncle than Anita and Ed. We spent family holidays together in North Plainfield and Plainfield and then visited in Colorado and Westwood. Debbie later lived near me in Emerson and in July 1968 I met her in NYC and we went to dinner and the Merv Griffin show and were placed in the fromt row for the show. In past times we all would have lived in the same town or nearby our whole lives, sharing life. The best times were with family. I was very lucky to have Debbie and her family. God bless Bruce for his care and stepping up in the hardest of times. My best to Debbies' precious children and grandchildren, I know you are all special. I will always love my "sister" Debbie.

We are so saddened to hear of Debbie's passing. Being Hillsdale's neighbors and friends we shared many wonderful times together, especially watching our children grow up. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bruce and the family.❤️
