WOOSTER “ Diane Dee Weitzel, 67, of Wooster passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at her home.
She was born April 22, 1952 in Shelby, the daughter of James P. and Bonnie J. Geary Hunter.
Diane retired as a secretary from the Wooster Country Club and she had worked at First Federal Savings and Loan.   She was a 1970 graduate of Wooster High School where she was homecoming queen, a cheerleader, President of student council and was on the prom court.   She was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church.   Diane loved to cross stitch and read.
Surviving are her children Jamie (Dan) Scripps of North Port, Michigan and Christie (Adam) Merrill of Bremerton, Washington; grandsons, Jack and Nichol Scripps and granddaughters, Eloise and Lenora Merrill; her siblings, Linda (Kenneth) Rachel of Mansfield, Sallie (Ronnie) Walton of Creston and Patti (John) Masters of Mt. Eaton and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no calling hours and private family services will be held.   Burial will be in the Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  1. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. Diane was such a lovely lady. I worked with her at the WoosterCountry Club. She was funny and a lot of fun to work with.Ive run into her a few times and always enjoyed aour conversations and catching up! Thoughts and prayers are with your families.

  5. I will always remember Diane as such a friendly person who expressed a positive energy. A very kind soul.. Am grateful to have known her.

  9. I am so sorry for your loss. I was a year behind Diane at WHS but it didn’t matter to Diane. She was a very sweet person.
    Always with a smile and friendly comment. I haven’t seen her in years but will always remember her kindness. My heart goes out to her family.
