Dixie Lee Etzwiler, 62, of Wooster went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2020 at Smithville Western Care Center.   Mom battled dementia for years and lost her battle to Covid-19.
Mom was born June 10, 1957 to Lyle Tomes and the late Thelma (Roy) Williams in Lodi, Oh.   She spent the majority of her early years in Lafayette.   At the age of 12, mom moved to Medina and then Creston in 1976.   Most of her adult life was spent between Medina and Wayne County.
Mom enjoyed crocheting, doing her cross stitch, watching soap operas and wrestling.   She enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend Charlie Miller and her grandchildren.   Mom attended church at Parkview Christian Church.
Surviving are her daughter Christina McKinney of Wooster and son Andrew (Brittany) Caine of Lodi; grandchildren Triston, Kaylynn, Kyle, Cirston, Nathan and Dustin of Wooster; brothers Michael (Darlene) Tomes of Rineyville, KY, Robert Tomes of Wooster, Matthew (Carolyn Welton) of Lyman, SC and Roy (Jennifer) Williams of Mt. Vernon; sisters Heidi (Ken) Imhoff of Akron and Melanie (Jesse) Keene of Lodi and best friends Loretta Veres and Renee Bauer and her father Lyle Tomes.
Mom was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Caine, her father and mother Roy and Thelma Williams and a grandson Michael Bourgoin.
Private family services will be held for the family.   Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Shreve.   A Celebration of Life for mom will be set at a later date.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Smithville Western for all the care and laughs they had with Dixie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
