Dolores Anita Maruna

Birth Date:
Saturday, March 5, 1932
Date of Passing:
Sunday, November 1, 2020

Dolores Anita Maruna, age 88, passed away peacefully Nov. 1, 2020 at Ross Hospital in Columbus after a period of declining health. She was born March 5, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to Gino and Norina Tubero. She married her husband Robert on Nov. 6, 1954. Bob swept Dolores off her feet by offering to push her on a swing at Trent playground and that was the beginning of their love story. They were days away from celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary. After living in Cleveland and Canton, they eventually settled in Wooster, Ohio where Bob was hired to work for The Village Network.

In addition to being a devoted wife to Robert, Dolores was a beloved mother to her five children Robert (Marilyn), Karen (and the late Terry), Todd (Kimberli), Lynn (Bruce), Mark (Donna), adoring grandmother to her fifteen grandchildren Carli (Kevin), Scott, Kevin (MaryBeth), Matthew, Jacob, Alex, Max, Faith, Kaylie, Lauren, Brayden, Mia, Marcus, Caroline, Nathan; and two loving great grandchildren Ellie and Katelyn.

Dolores was always willing to give others the gift of her time. When she was raising her children, Dolores passionately supported them in every phase of their lives. She was their biggest cheerleader and later, their closest friend and advocate.

Our matriarch had a round table in her tiny kitchen where delicious meals were served and colorful stories flowed. All were welcome at that table. "C'mon have a seat!" There was always room to squeeze in another chair. Once seated, be prepared to stay awhile and know you will end up laughing till you cry. Dolores loved to laugh and was passionate about the details. You left her table full…in body and spirit.

When Dolores said her prayers each night, she reflected on how much she loved and appreciated God, family and friends. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster.  As a volunteer for funeral luncheons, her signature cupcakes were a welcome addition to the table.

Dolores, it is your turn to sit at the table of the Lord. You will be missed beyond words.

"Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!"  Matthew 25:23.

Condolences

Karen, I've thought of you often throughout the years. So I was sorry to learn of your Mothers passing. My thoughts will be on you and your family as you deal with your loss.

Our deepest sympathy to you in this time of sorrow. Although Dolores is in heaven, not having her physically present will be hard. My deepest condolences to Bob, who loved her so much. My mother (Mitzi) is in deep grief and said that life now has changed without her best buddy to chat with and to support each other through their latter years. Your family is beautiful and I have so many memories of your mom. Peace to you and your family.

I was very sorry to see where Dolores had passed away, the family has my deepest sympathy, I knew some of the family from being at Melrose Elementary and PTA My prayers are with the family at this difficult time! My married name at the time was Myrtle Snodgrass!

Delores was a beautiful lady who often talked about her love of her children and grandchildren. My heart goes out to Bob & their family. Your in my prayers.

We were very sorry to hear of your loss. Dolores was a great neighbor and always willing to help. I am sorry that she and I didn’t get to do another lunch and movie.
We know the whole family and send Bob, Bobble, Karen, Todd, Lynn and Mark our deepest condolences.

Dear Bob and Family,
We were so sorry to hear Dolores died. She was a bright light to everyone in her life. The obituary is a lovely tribute to a life well lived. One of the fondest memories I have was visiting with both of you at Buehlers every Friday. Bob take care of yourself, you were a loving and loyal husband to Dolores.
Lovingly,
Tim and Lorraine Boreman.

May God bless your precious family, I’m so sorry for your loss❤️

With heartfelt condolences. God Bless

Mark, I’m very sorry to read about the passing of your mom. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. I’m not sure if you remember me,but Tim Rehard is my cousin. God bless and rest assured she is in good hands.

Karen, please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. I will be praying for your family in the days ahead.....

I did not see much of Dolores in the past few decades after my work took us to NC. I remember her as a gracious hostess and a kind soul. Her physical beauty will live on in the faces of her children. Uncle Bob will treasure the memories of 66 years together.
And by the way, that was a lovely obit.
