Donald R. “Donnie” Smith, 67, of Orrville and formerly of Wooster went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at his home with his wife and family at his side.

He was born June 24, 1950 in Portsmouth to John H. and Leona Bradford Smith.  He graduated from Northwestern High School with the class of 1968.  In 1969, he married Sue Foster, who survives.

Donnie had worked at George Lamb Chevrolet for 15 years in the body shop then worked for Volvo Trucks and then JLG as a painter, where he retired from in 2012.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and doing body work on cars.  Donnie was a member of the Wooster Church of the Nazarene. 

Along with his wife, Donnie is survived by his sons Brad (Jen) Smith of Creston and David (Renee) Smith of Wooster; grandchildren Kerista Smith of Wooster, Cory (Ashley) Smith of Smithville, Keirsta (Aaron) Lane of North Carolina, Ella Smith of Creston, Ashley Noel Bickel of Columbus, Celeste Pritchard, Arizona Smith, Myranda Smith and Sapphire Smith all of Wooster; two great grandchildren Jaxx Wilson and Jace Smith; his siblings, Jim (Louise) Smith of Jeromesville, Phyllis (Sam) Hinton of New Pittsburgh and Roger (Linda) Smith of Ashland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ruth Raynard Gilliland, Shirley Roeser and Ellen Fortune. 

There will no calling hours or services per Donnie’s wishes.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
