WALNUT CREEK “ Doris May Tucker, age 93, passed away May 24, 2019 at Walnut Hills Retirement Community in Walnut Creek, Ohio.   Born May 9th, 1926 to Harry and Martha (Moser) Swartz in Dalton, Ohio, Doris graduated from Dalton High School then went to work at a local bank.   She married Gilbert Tucker, Jr. in 1947.   They raised their family in Wooster, Ohio.   Doris worked at the local Buckeye Mart department store and was a member of Central Christian Church. While living in North Carolina during retirement, she volunteered at schools and hospitals.   Sewing, gardening and reading were her hobbies.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Tucker, Jr., her sister, Hazel MacPherson and brother, James Swartz.   She is survived by her three children, Jane, Peggy and Hal and four grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.   She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Gilbert, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.
