WOOSTER “ Dorothy Foote Mishler, 98, of Wooster passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Smithville Western Care Center.
She was born June 15, 1920 in Cleveland Hts., Ohio, the daughter of Earl H. and Dorothy Budde Foote.   She grew up in Medina graduating salutatorian of her Medina High School Class of 1938.
She received BA degree 1942 in Mathematics along with teacher certificate from College ofWooster. While in Wooster she was member of Kappa Mu Epsilon National Honorary MathFraternity.
In 1942 Dorothy married Philip Bryce Mishler (deceased 1976). They first lived in AlexandriaVirginia where she was supervisor of the Miscellaneous Audit Section of the Eastern AreaHeadquarters of the American Red Cross while her husband Phil was in the US Weather BureauService at Washington National Airport. They also lived in Toledo, Ohio before settling inWooster in 1957. While Phil worked in the Trust Department of the Commercial Bank inWooster Dorothy was homemaker to their three daughters.
Dorothy was active in the Wooster United Methodist Church having been head of committeesincluding worship committee, president of United Methodist Women, and EducationCommittee. She served on District and State United Methodist Women ™s Boards, was Presidentof Wooster Church Women United and volunteered for blood mobile and financial recordskeeping of the Wooster Red Cross, was active for over 30 years at the Wayne County HistoricalSociety and chairman of their antique dolls, quilted in quilt group at her church for 25 years.
She is survived by her three daughters Helen (John) Moore of N Canton, Betty Mishler andNancy Mishler of Wooster, grandson Steve Moore of Mt. Vernon, granddaughter Cathy (Matt)Sweeney of N Canton, great grandson Claytin Sweeney and two great granddaughters Aria andKeira Sweeney.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St., Wooster with Rev. Jim Cooper Officiating.   Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
