  1. When I read Coaches obitutary it is hard to believe we were friends for 50 years where did those years go. 1949-2022 I just noticed the hypen between the years. Coach touched a lot people it is what we do in between those hypens that make us the person we become. Coach tuched me. I will always remember hunting, working on guns NOBODY new as much about German WW11 guns as Doug. We worked on cars his MGB his truck. I will alway remember a picture a took of him laying on my lawn in his coverall after a day of partying. GREAT memories of a dear friend. Chris and Sally Whitemyer

  9. My heart breaks for you and the boys Jeanne. We always loved Doug’s wittiness and we shared many good times all those years of coaching. Loved the fishing stories and Dave crashing his motorcycle in Burbank. Doug forbid Dave on it after that. Will forever cherish many times we shared with the two of you. Hugs and prayers…

  10. Working with Doug at ACDC was always an event. He always had a story to tell or an experience to share. He was a great worker and did everything with a sense of humor. As his supervisor I “occasionally” had to remind him of our many rules while silently chuckling to myself. The individuals with whom he worked all loved Doug and he treated all of them with dignity. He took great enjoyment in many of the daily antics we witnessed. My sincere condolences to his family. He will truly be missed by so many.

  16. I’m sorry to read the local groundhogs are celebrating, and I’m sorry for your loss. Mr. Fedyk was my Ohio History teacher, Jr. High Football Coach, and High School Wrestling coach. I’ve told my son how cool it was when Mr. Fedyk brought in his German memorabilia, including guns to history class. In today’s world I know that’s hard to believe. In Jr. High I was taking after school banjo lessons (no laughing) and would need to leave practice a little early to make it on time. He would say “OK, see ya tomorrow Earl Scruggs.” Later in life I visited with him at the occasional gun show or open shoot at Silver Dollar. He was definitely one of my favorite teachers that I respected and also feared (just a little :)). I hope there are groundhogs to hunt and clay pigeons to break where he is now.
