WEST SALEM – E. Dale FORBES, 69, of West Salem, died Friday, January 25, 2008 at his home
Born April 25, 1938 in Weilersville, OH, he was the son of Earl J. and Velda Fern Iceman Forbes.
He was a self-employed logger for over 53 years and owned D & M Logging. He had lived in Congress Twp. all of his life. Member of the Congress Community Church. Member of the Gnat Boxers, NRA, New Pittsburg Sportsman Club, Isaac Walton League and a Congress Twp Trustee for 13 years. He loved hunting, fishing, trucks and old cars, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Mona Howe Forbes, whom he married April 26, 1957; his children Linda (Bruce) Bragg of Holmesville, Bryan (Sue) Forbes of West Salem, Lois (Scott) Owens of Wooster and Eric (Ramona) Forbes of West Salem; 5 granddaughters, 1 grandson and 2 step-grandsons; brothers, Glenn (Mary) Forbes of West Salem and Paul (Pat) Forbes of Lakeland, FL, sisters, Twyla Gibson of St. Cloud, FL, JoAnn Aylsworth of Wooster and Eileen (Robert) Balliett of W. Salem.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Rick Moutoux and brothers-in-law Leland Pelton, Larry Spiglemire, Lee Gibson and Earl Aylsworth.
