AUSTINTOWN, OHIO “ Edith I. Kurtz, 97, of Austintown and formerly of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Boardman.
She was born October 17, 1919 in Akron, the daughter of Winfred Carl and Bessie Bell Hysell Williams.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Orrville Christian Church and the Happy Hearts group.
She is survived by her children, Linda Heap of Austintown and Jeffrey Kurtz of Wooster; 4 grandchildren,  6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and her sibling, Eleanor Samic of Wadsworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ross Kurtz, in 1988, a daughter, Judy Porter, a grandchild and siblings, Bill Williams, Dollie Mae Adkins and Frances Jane Pelfrey.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. service on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Tom Ledford officiating.   Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.
