WOOSTER – -Elizabeth Mary œBetty  Drouhard, 76, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 10, 1942 in Wooster, the daughter of Sabatino œSam  and Edith Carsone Tomassetti. She married Donald Drouhard on September 1, 1962. He survives.
Betty was a very loving and devoted wife of 55 years, mother of three and grandmother of five who put the needs of her family ahead of her own. Keeping true to her Italian heritage Betty thrived on family traditions such as hosting holiday Italian Feasts where many authentic dishes were prepared.   Growing up in a devout Catholic home was the beginning of Betty ™s lifelong faith. She traveled to Medjugorje where she enhanced her devotion to the Blessed Mother. Betty ™s affection and kindness for friends and family was reflected in the many prayers and hand written notes she sent.
After raising her family she worked as a teacher ™s aide frequently working with special needs children at Boys Village, Wooster High School and Melrose Elementary.   Betty demonstrated her passion for working with students and enhancing teacher ™s lessons by taking a personal interest in each child and project assigned.   Betty also enjoyed working various positions in the retail industry.  
As a former member of Saint Mary ™s Catholic Church in Wooster, Betty served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society.   As a current member of Sacred Heart Church of Wadsworth, she actively participated in a group Bible study.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Don are her children, Jeffrey (Brenda) Drouhard of Wooster, Donae (Scott) Ranson of Austin, Texas and Todd (Alecia) Drouhard of Troy; grandchildren, Kylie Drouhard, Zachary (Sara) Drouhard, Austin and Alissa Ranson and Cara Drouhard; a sister, Donna Shie of Orrville and a niece Nancy (Wayne)Yoder of Orrville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts and other close relatives.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 6-8:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 9:30 AM at the Sacred Heard of Jesus Catholic Church, 260 Broad Street, Wadsworth with the Rev. Joseph Labak as celebrant.   Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691 or to Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 260 Broad Street, Wadsworth, OH 44281.
The family extends a special thank you to LifeCare Hospice and Burbank Parke for their compassionate and loving care.
