WOOSTER – Frances E. BARGER, 88, of Wooster, died Monday, January 7, 2008 in Hickory Creek Nursing Center in Nelsonville, Ohio
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster, OH, 1 hour prior to the 11:30 A.M. service Saturday, January 12, 2008, with Rev. Robin Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
Born September 1, 1919 in Wooster, Ohio, she was the daughter of Oscar D. and Buelah Houser Kaufman.
She was a teacher at Edgewood Jr. High for 26 years retiring in 1989. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 35 years.
Graduate of Wooster High School in 1937, the College of Wooster in 1963 and received her Master of Arts degree in 1971. Member of Wayne Co. Retired Teachers Assn, the English Club, D.A.R.. She enjoyed writing, poetry, reading, paint crafts, sewing and gardening.
Surviving are a daughter, Dianne Young of Brooklyn, NY, a son, David L. (Jan Crall) Barger of Athens, OH; grandchildren Leah Kathryn Young and her husband Justin Bhagat of Brooklyn, NY and Nicole Barger of San Diego, CA.
She was the last of her family. She was preceded by a brother David Kaufman and sisters Kathryn Urban, Millie Jenkins and Gertrude Ward
