WOOSTER – Frederick S. Dugan, 87, of Wooster, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Wayne County Care Center following a period of declining health.
He was born May 9, 1932 in Kokomo, Indiana to Fred and Alma (Ammerman) Dugan. On November 14,1959 he married Kathryn Sullivan in Augusta, Georgia. She survives.
Fred graduated from Kokomo High School in 1951 and received his BS degree in Business Administration – Personnel Management from Indiana University in 1955. He served in the U. S.Army as an Instructor in the Southeast Signal School at Fort Gordon, Georgia 1955-1957.
He worked in Augusta, Georgia at the George Pacific Corporation and General Electric Credit Corporation from 1957-1960. In 1961 he joined the staff of the Department of Personnel at PurdueUniversity, West Lafayette, Indiana as the Employment Manager. In 1977 he became the Director of Personnel at The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio and retired from there in 1994.
Fred was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Wooster where he served on various committees. He was a former member of Wooster Kiwanis, the Wayne County Personnel Associationand was on the Board of Directors of Your Human Resource Center (now Anazao). Together with his wife he was the Co-President of the Wooster High School Speech and Debate Parents and Co-Treasurer of the WHS Music Parents.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Anne D. McLain (Michelle M. Harris) of Pepper Pike, Ohio, a son Mark A. Dugan and a daughter Linda E. Dugan both of Wooster. Grandchildren are Christopher A. McLain of Columbus, Ohio; Kayleigh, Steven, Alaina and Owen Dugan all of Wooster. Also a niece and four nephews are all living in Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Linepensel and brothers-in-law Robert E. Schneidau and Kenneth Linepensel all of Indiana.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6. 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, with the Reverends Charles Cureton and James Watt officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., Wooster, Ohio.
