Garlan Estes Scheibe, 102, of Wooster died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born January 30, 1914 in Layland, OH to Grover Cleveland and Ethel Lint Scheibe.   On August 17, 1935, he married Clella L. Dennis.   She preceded him in death in 1984.
Garlan retired from Bauer Ladder after 37 years and had also been a farm hand for his son, Clifford, for 14 years.   He was a member of the Blachleyville Church of Christ and of the Blachleyville Grange for 30 years.
He is survived by his sons Clifford (Barbara), Dwight (Sandy) both of Shreve, Duane (Donna) of Jeromesville and Marvin (Debbie) of Wooster; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Garlan was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ralph, James, Alvin and George and sisters Rita Kasier and Eleanor Hostettler; a daughter-in-law, Carol Scheibe, and a special friend Anna Davidoff.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Arnie Kaufman officiating.   Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
