He had worked for the College of Wooster on the Grounds Crew for 18 years retiring in 2002. He had previously worked for Diebold for 18
years. Enjoyed fishing, C.B. Radios, mowing his yard and loved having
coffee on his front porch with his friends and brother.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Cope Barnes, whom he married July 13, 1999; his children Vicki (Jack) Barnes Schlarb of Wooster, Doug (Kim) Barnes of Wooster and Tom (Theresa) Barnes of Meadville, PA; Step-daughter, Brandy (Aaron) Winans of Smithville and a step-son, Dustin Shelton of Wooster; grandchildren Kara Barnes of Wooster, Abby Barnes of Wooster, Jamie (Brandon) Barnes of Wooster, Candace (Dennis) Evans of Ashland, Hannah Winans of Smithville, Maurah Winans of Smithville and Hunter Winans of Smithville, Joey and Matthew Barnes of Meadville, PA; great-grandson Braden; brother, Warren (Dianne) Barnes, sisters Ida (Steve) Wincek and Bonnie (Larry) Young all of Wooster.
He was preceded iin death by a grandson, Christopher Kaylor and a sister, Dorothy Beckler.
