Gary Dale Zimmerman, 66, of Wooster died Monday, January 1, 2018 at Glendora Care Center.
He was born March 7, 1951 in Wooster to Dale L. and Marian Bishop Zimmerman.   On July 21, 1973 he married Debra Leach, who survives.
Gary graduated from Northwestern High School in 1969 and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Smithville.   He had worked for the College of Wooster in the Transportation Department.   Gary was a MOPAR enthusiast, enjoyed softball and spending time with his grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Debra, Gary is survived by his children Chad (Patti) Zimmerman of Brunswick and Stacy (Somendra) Kahatapitiya of Catonsville, MD; grandchildren Jordan and Kendall Zimmerman and Logan and Addison Kahatapitiya; siblings Craig (Charlene) Zimmerman of Jeromesville, Todd Zimmerman of Wooster, Cheryl (Howard) Carter of Fayetteville, NC, Lisa (Robert) Keiffer of Piney Flats, TN, Sandra Hicks of Dalton and Fred Zimmerman of Tampa, FL.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Mark.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 5:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 777 S. Summit St., Smithville, with Pastor Kristy Buyok officiating.   There will be no calling hours.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
