Wooster- Geneva Thompson Englebretson, 94, of Wooster and formerly of Harlingen, Texas died Saturday March 6, 2010 at Westview Manor. She was born on February 19, 1916 in Derrick, North Dakota daughter of the late Homer and Cora (Stephenson) Goodwill.
Geneva received her Master’s in Education and in Library Science, was an elementary teacher and was a media specialist for the Grand Forks Public Schools in North Dakota. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and of Alpha Delta Kappa. Geneva moved to Ohio in 2005.
She is survived by her daughters Phyllis (John) Hinerman of Wooster and Marlyce (Jim) Rysavy of Corpus Christi, TX; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by husbands Stanley Thompson and Earl Englebretson; brothers Kenneth and Winfred Goodwill and sister Doris Goodwill.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday March 14, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the chapel at Westview Manor, 1715 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating.
Contributions may be directed to Westview Manor Auxiliary, 1715 Mechanicsburg Road or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, OH 44691.
McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, Wooster is assisting the family with the arrangements.
