WOOSTER – Gladys M VIZZO RINGLER, 90, of Wooster passed away Wednesday June 10, 2009 in West View Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She was born February 26, 1919 in Wayne County the daughter of Charles J and Mary Ethel Lopez Rumbaugh.
She had been a cafeteria worker at Edgewood School retiring in 1981. Gladys was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle. She loved music and dearly loved her children and grandchildren and all of her family. She had attended Chester High School..
Surviving are her children, Jon (Peggy) Vizzo, Joanne (Ron) Leaman, Fred (Susan) Vizzo, Jeff (Julie) Vizzo and Dan (Sherry) Vizzo all of Wooster and Chuck Vizzo of Shreve; grandchildren, Kerri Vizzo of Jackson Twp., Eric (Ericka) Vizzo of Wooster, Mark Vizzo of Cleveland, Bill Vizzo of Singapore, Japan, Gina Vizzo of Columbus, Adam Vizzo of Missoula, MT, Theresa Vizzo, Aaron Vizzo, Nick Vizzo, Josh (Rachel) Vizzo all of Wooster and Kaley (Jesse) Ebert of St. Louis, MO; great-granddaughter, Addison Vizzo.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Paul Vizzo on June 8, 1963 whom she married February 25, 1945 and Howard Ringler on January 29, 1986 whom she married September 12, 1969, a son, Thomas Paul Vizzo, on May 24, 1989 and an infant sister, Virginia Pearl Rumbaugh.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 6-8:00 P.M.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM with the Revs. Kevan Franklin and Glenn Royer officiating. Interment will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 5000 Rockside Road, Suite 310, Independence, OH 44131 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff, nurses and all the aids at West View Manor for all their love, help and special care.
