SMITHVILLE – Glenn R. BYLER, 81, of Smithville, OH, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in Akron City Hospital.
Services will be Monday, October 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Smithville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Peachey officiating. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 6-9:00 P.M. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

Glenn was born August 19, 1927 in Wooster, OH, son of Raymond and Ruth McFadden Byler and married Maxine Snyder on July 9, 1948. She survives.
He was a 1947 graduate of Smithville High School and had served his country in the U.S. Navy.
In his earlier years, he had farmed and was skilled in many construction trades. He retired from the former Regal Ware and McClintock Electric both of Wooster.
He was a member of Smithville United Methodist Church, the American Legion and was a former member of the Eagles Lodge.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing in Canada, woodworking and playing cribbage.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years are children, Marcia Brueck of Wooster, Linda (Brad) Hider of Shreve, Diane (Ken) Ryneer of Smithville, Bruce (Barb) Byler of Smithville; grandchildren and their families, Jeremy (Kim) Brueck, Ian, Isaac and Aiden of Akron, Josh Brueck of Cincinnati, Heather (Brian) Kindy, Traci, Kaitlyn, Courtney and Kent of Smithville, Jennifer (Greg) Morgan and Max of Barberton, Tiffany (Adam) Schupp, Dakota and Danicka of Shreve, Emily (David) Gerhart of Creston, Chris (Heather) Byler of Loudonville and Danielle Byler and her fiance, Jamin Sprowl of Wooster; siblings, Carl Byler, and Betty (Don) Moomaw, both of Wooster and Janet Jameson of Lakewood, Colo; and a sister-in-law, Peg Byler of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sally Ann; his parents; and siblings and their spouses, Isabelle (Ron) Marble, Martha (Glenn) Lytle and Bob Byler and a sister-in-law Betty Lee Byler.
