EDINBORO, PA – Helen M MCWILLIAMS, 92, of Edinboro, PA and formerly of Wooster passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, PA.
She was born September 2, 1916 in Wooster, the daughter of Harry and Estella Swarts Eitner. On May 12, 1939 she married Gerald McWilliams in the Overton Church with the Rev. Robert Tuck officiating. He died November 6, 2002.
She attended grades one thru eight at #9 School in Wooster, attended Wooster High School and Wooster Business College. Helen retired in 1979 as a payroll clerk for Freeman Construction. She was a member of the Parkview Church of Christ and was a proud and loving mother and grandmother who was always smiling.
Surviving are a son, Gary L. (Caroline) McWilliams of Palm City, FL, a daughter, Donna J. Grimshaw of Edinboro, PA, grandchildren, Sean McWilliams of Florida and Garrett McWilliams of North Carolina, 3 great-grandchildren and special friends Jim and Mary Kelley who treated her like their mother.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Hazel Lewis on April 9, 2006 and half-sisters, Florence Porter and Bess Keister and a son-in-law Ben Grimshaw.
Graveside Services will be held at the Wooster Cemetery on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Dean Hammond officiating. Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster 1 hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
Contributions may be made to a charity of the donnor’s choice.
