WOOSTER – Helen S. SWARTZ, 84, of Wooster passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 in Smithville Western Care Center.
She was born March 25, 1925 in Wayne Co the daughter of John W. and Anna G. Griffith Swinehart.
She was a graduate of Chester High School and Akron City School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at Wooster Community Hospital and in several doctor’s offices. She had also worked in the office at the Wayne Co.Credit Union. Helen was a former 4-H leader and was an avid gardener and sewer who loved to read and watch her grandchildren and their activities. She had been a member of the Congress Community Church.
Surviving are her children, Mary Anna (Jon) Kinney of Wooster, Scott William Campbell and John Michael (Amy) Campbell both of Burbank; step-daughters Valerie Farst of Wooster and Barbara Swartz of Irvine, California; 11Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Edward Swartz, on November 10, 2004 whom she married in 1968 and Michael T. Campbell in 1987 whom she married in 1944, sons, Bruce John and Phillip Michael Campbell and a brother, Carl E. Swinehart.
Friends may call one hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. service on Monday, November 23, 2009 at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Hopme, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev’s Christopher Cottrel and Dairel Kaiser officiating.
