WOOSTER – Henry Lee, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 8, 2016 surrounded by his family.
His loving wife Sui Yuong preceded Henry in August 2016.   He was a loving husband and a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.   Henry dedicated his entire life to raising, caring for, and supporting his family.   He always welcomed others into his family.
Henry was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1926, and spent his youth in China.   He had a traditional arranged marriage with Sui Yuong in 1944, and had a son (Joe) in China.   In 1946, Henry returned to the US, settling in Wooster, to support his wife and son who were in China and unable to join him. He opened and ran a small business, Lee’s Hand Laundry in Wooster to support his family in China.   He was separated from his family in China for nine years until they were able to join him again in Wooster by 1955, where they raised another son (Ron) and daughter (Janet).   After closing the laundry due to Urban Renewal in 1975, he worked for the Wooster Water Department until he retired in 1989.   He then spent his time working around the house, visiting family, raising grandkids, and helping friends in the community.
In retirement, Henry and his wife loved the kids and grandkids – attending school events and graduations, finding the perfect gifts for holidays, and always being generous with his time.   His easy-going nature, stories, and humor were well-loved and will be missed.
Henry was preceded in death by his sisters Victoria Toy, Francis Jung, Nancy Lee and brother ™s Charles Lee and Harry Lee.   He was the youngest of his brothers and sisters and was known for his humor and funny jokes.
Henry is survived by sons Joe (Sue-Min), Ron (Carol), and daughter Janet and by his grandchildren Kent (Sen), Monica (John), Joanna, Alex, and Elizabeth.
