MANSFIELD “ Howard Allen Leighty, 59, of Mansfield passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his home.
He was born June 1, 1961 in Wooster, the son of Thomas G. Sr. and Mary Lou Mohr Leighty.
He had worked as a mechanic on semi-trucks.   He loved the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Motor Cross Auto Racing and classic cars. Howard had a soft spot in his heart for dogs and cats and had rescued many throughout the years. He also enjoyed boating, camping, and fishing.
He is survived by his loving girlfriend of 15 years Kimberly Kaufman of Mansfield; his mother Mary Lou Leighty of Wooster; siblings Thomas Jr. (Michelle) Leighty and Danny (Norma) Leighty both of Wooster and Linda Sue Edwards of Fredericksburg; an uncle Cliff (Ginny) Leighty of Wooster; aunts Miriam Terman, Eunice (Mose) Yates and Judy Leighty all of Wooster; sisters-in-law Leeann Leighty and Linette Gantz of Wooster and many, many nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, his brothers Larry, Terry and James and several aunts and uncles.
There will be no calling hours and private family services will be held.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
