WOOSTER – Howard William MARCUM, Sr., 72, of Wooster passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 at his home.
He was born August 31, 1936 in Cincinnati, son of Vernon and Cora Troscher Marcum.
He was a welder and then a supervisor at the Gerstenslager Co. for 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman and was a Browns, Cavs and Indians fan. Served his country with the U. S. Navy during the Korean War.
Surviving are wife, Janet Ward Marcum, to whom he had been married 53 years; his children Belinda (Ron) Messner of Wooster, Sonny (Pam) Marcum of Wooster, Keith (Janelle) Marcum of Shreve, Kelly (Leslie) Marcum of Wooster and Lisa McDowell and Jamie Heath of Wooster; his mother of California; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Adkins of CA and Verna Faye Henry of Cincinnati and a brother, Vernon Marcum of KY.
Howard was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother and sister.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Tuesday evening, September 1, 2009 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. William Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
