WOOSTER – Jack E FERRELL, 73, of Wooster, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at Brookdale Nursing Home.
He was born February 17, 1937 in Long Bottom, OH, son of Harley and Elsie Miller Ferrell.
He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight Ways for 30 years retiring in 1996. He attended Congress Community Church. He enjoyed drag racing, NASCAR, baseball and football or any other sport. He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes. Jack served his country with the U.S. Army.
Surviving are wife, Betty Lewis Ferrell, of Ashland whom he married October 22, 1960; his daughter, Dima (John) Adkins of Shreve: siblings, Marie Hauck of Pomeroy, Mildred Miller of Ashland, Jean Keele of Sebring, Bob Ferrell of Mt. Vernon, Bill Ferrell of Wadsworth, Glen Ferrell of Hilliard, Charlie Ferrell of Ashland and Richard Ferrell of Wooster; grandchildren, Kevin (Stacy) Adkins and Ashlie Adkins both of Wooster.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kessell Ferrell, sisters, Eloise Smith and Elledene Watson.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 2-4:00 P.M.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Eric Fairhurst officiating. Interment will follow in the West Salem Cemetery.
