WOOSTER “ Jacqueline Ruth Weiser Rittenhouse Myers, 67, of Wooster passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Ohio ™s Hospice Lifecare in Wooster.
She was born on November 5, 1951 at Wooster Community Hospital to Nancy Jean Tunison and John Edwin Weiser II and was later adopted by Joseph D. Rittenhouse.
Jackie was one of eight children; Linda (Thomas) Campagna of Clovis, California, John (Sharon) Rittenhouse of Plymouth, Michigan, Rebecca Ziebro of Cuyahoga Falls, Barbara (John) Gianotto of Wooster, Matthew (Robin) Rittenhouse of Clover, South Carolina and Joseph Rittenhouse of Wooster.
She started her school career in Wooster and graduated from Wellington High School class of 1970.   While attending Kent State she started her 35 year career path in the telecommunications field as a phone operator.   She continued on to be one of the first women in her field to work on phone installations and climbing telephone poles.   She transitioned her way up into a hardware office working with landlines.   Jackie retired from All-Tel/Windstream as a translations engineer.
She was married for 16 years to Douglas C. Myers of Wooster.   Together they had 3 loving children; Lauren J. (Trey) Chitty, Stephanie R. (Joshua) Mitten and Daniel C. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sister, Elizabeth œLiz Edwards.
Hardly a day went by that Jackie didn ™t read her books and bird watch from her home and car windows.   Many trips were made to Shreve Swamp and throughout Ohio to take in nature.   Her travels to œout west , family vacations to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina and to Florida were always the happiest of memories.   Her favorite pastime was working evenings on counted cross-stich projects, giving many away as gifts to family, friends and her church.   Jackie was baptized and a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster.
