WOOSTER – James P. HUNTER, 87, of Wooster went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Smithville Western Care Center.
He was born June 10, 1921 in Thompson, OH, son of Wilbur Clark and Mabel Annette Zebold Hunter.
He had been a Sales manager for Prudential Insurance Co. Member of the Wooster United Methodist Church. James served his country with the U.S,. Army during WWII under General Pattons 3rd Army receiving the Purple Heart. Member of the Elks Lodge, Wooster Kiwanis Club and the American Legion.
Surviving are his children Linda (Kenneth) Rachel of Mansfield, Sallie (Ronnie) Walton of Creston, Diane Weitzel of Wooster and Patti (John) Masters of Mt. Eaton; grandchildren Michelle (Rachel) Lewis, Jeffrey P. Rachel, Jennifer (Walton) Walker, Jessica Walton, Jamie Scripps, Christie Merrill, Joshua Masters and Andrea Masters;, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister, Martha Jones of Durant, OK.
James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnie J. Geary Hunter, on January 19, 2003 whom he married November 29, 1941 and 5 brothers.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday evening from 6-9:00 P.M with an Elks Memorial Service at 5:30 P.M.
Services will be held at Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Larry Black officiating. Interment will follow in the Wooster Cemetery, Wooster.

Thursday evening from 6-9:00 P.M. with an Elks Memorial Service at 5:30 P.M.
