TOPEKA, KANSAS – Jeffrey Silverman, 58, Topeka, Kansas passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2010 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born in Massachusetts and has resided in Kansas the past 23 years.
He had worked at Payless Shoe Source and currently had his own import business.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Mary Lou (Kobilarcik), and sons, Dustin and T.J.; a brother, Andrew Silverman, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert G. and Mary Ann (Wheeler) Kobilarcik, many brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Jeff was devoted to his family, a passionate husband, father and friend. He enjoyed karate, eventually earning a Black belt in Hawaiian Kempo. Although he battled Leukemia for 15 years, he never gave up but rather motivated and strongly touched those around him. Jeff will be sincerely missed and through his years of fighting he has given much inspiration and hope to others. He will never be forgotten.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Wooster with Fr. Stephen Moran officiating.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
