WOOSTER – Jessie Amelia (Pettigrew) Bohl, age 92, of Wooster, Ohio died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at West View Manor Nursing Home.
Jessie was born May 16, 1917 in Corning, Ohio to Hugh H. and Jessie C. (Muircroft) Pettigrew, who were both born in Scotland. She graduated from Corning High School in 1935 and the Grant Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. She worked as a registered nurse at Grant Hospital in Columbus. She married Edward H. Bohl in Corning, Ohio on September 21, 1947. They lived in Columbus until 1963 when they moved to Wooster.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wooster, Mothers Club, Salvation Army Auxiliary, and the Viola Thorne Club. She was a nurse, homemaker and loving wife. She enjoyed her friends at Ohio State University and the OARDC.
Survived by her husband, Edward H. Bohl, of Wooster, children, Phillip (Theresa) Bohl of Canton, MI, Eric (Karen) Bohl of New Richmond, WI and David Bohl of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Nancy (Matthew Bormann), Katie (Jeff Osterhaus), Charlie (Maria Nitz), Eddie and Kristine. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Pettigrew, William Pettigrew, Anna Mae Ryan, and Marguerite Hedge.
Memorial Services will be Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church of Wooster with the Rev. Larry Black officiating. Interment will be at the Wooster Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday, from 9:30-11:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church of Wooster. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home of Wooster is making the arrangements.
