Jodie Lyn Powers, 50, of Wooster, died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood after a long journey with Lupus and a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease.)
She was born June 27, 1966 in Orrville to Richard and Melinda Ray Gentry.   On August 20, 1988, she married James Powers, who survives.
Jodie was a homemaker devoting her time to raising her children and being a Mamaw to her four beautiful   granddaughters. Jodie’s aspiration for life was to always be there for her kids and grandbabies. She loved spending time looking for hidden treasures at garage sales with anybody who would go with her. One of her favorite things was to take Sunday drives with her husband which usually would lead to one of the kids houses to spend with them or the grandbabies.
Along with her husband, Jodie is survived her children Zach (Deanna) Airwyke of Wooster, Tiffany (Bobby) Peppard of Kidron and Brittany (Michael Stout) Powers of Orrville; father Richard (Debbie) Gentry of East Greenville; mother Melinda Martin of Wooster; grandchildren Savannah and Skylar Peppard and Gracie and Kinsley Airwyke; and a brother Rich (Deanne) Gentry of Jeromesville.
Jodie was preceded in death by her step-father, David Martin.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, 7207 Chippewa Road, Orrville with Rev. Brad Kelley officiating.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
