WOOSTER “ John Paul Renner, 61, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
He was born July 9, 1956 in Dover, the son of Ramon and June Silvius Renner.
John was a graduate of Kent State University and was a Parole Officer with the Ohio Dept. of Rehabilitation and Corrections.   He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wayne County.
He loved traveling, birdwatching and nature and enjoyed James Taylor, being around people and making them laugh and he sang in the church choir.
Surviving are is his wife, Rhonda Eubanks Marthey; step-children, Tyler (Abbigail Robinson) Marthey of Apple Creek, Lindsay (Tyler Denton) Marthey of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Jordan (Amanda Butts) Marthey of Wooster; step-grandchildren, Tristan, Henry, Annalisia, Oliver and William (who is on the way); siblings, Kenneth (Karen) Renner of Navarre, Dave Renner of Paris, IL, Ramona (Calvin) Colvin of East Lake and Ann (Gary) Murvin of Killeen, TX; step-siblings, Linda (Steve) Immel of Sugar Creek and Kathy (Tom) Dill of Columbus; his mother-in-law Bernitta (James) Lanning of Millersburg; brother-in-law Terry (Mary Lisa) Eubanks of Apple Creek and his best friend, Jon Zeltman of Kidron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Janice Renner, a step-brother, John Zahner and his father-in-law Charles Eubanks.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wayne Co., 3186 Burbank Rd., Wooster with the Rev. Dr. V. Elaine Strawn officiating.   The family will greet friends following the service.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691 or to the Fellowship for the choir fund.
