WOOSTER “ Joseph S. Durbin, 73, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
He was born October 28, 1944 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Lyman and Clara Weiland Durbin.   He married Delores Bodager on August 2, 1969.   She survives.
He was an accountant working for Rubbermaid, Seaman Corp and Prentke Romich Co. over his 32 year career.   Joseph was a member of the Smithville Brethren Church, the Elks Lodge, and was on the board of directors for the Apple Creek Banking Co., and Whits End Community Place.
After retirement, he worked at Mohican Hills Golf Course doing anything and everything needed, as well as playing lots of golf, the game he loved.   He cared about people and loved to give hugs to all and encouragement to those who needed it.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his siblings, James (Patricia) Durbin of Orlando, Winifred Durbin of Columbus, Raymond Durbin and Michael Durbin both of Mt. Vernon, Rosemary McAdams of Louisville, Ky and Barbara Durbin of Westerville; a sister-in-law, Sharon Durbin and brothers-in-law, Don and Dennis Bodager as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charlie and John Durbin and a niece, Trish Durbin.
The family will receive friends following the 11:00 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Smithville Brethren Church, 193 E. Main St., Smithville with the Revs Art Carr and Dale RuLon officiating.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
