WOOSTER – Joyce H. Prece, 81, of Wooster passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Burbank Parke Nursing Home.

She was born March 27, 1936 in Milford, Connecticut, the daughter of Ernest and Louella Gates Bartlett Helwig.  She married Joseph Francis Prece on November 29, 1963.  He preceded her in death on June 13, 1995.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  Joyce loved cooking, her specialty was her homemade Italian sauce, herb gardening, dancing and horses.

She is survived by her children, Elaine (Bobby) Lee of Shreve, Glenn (Patty) Barret of Connecticut, Susan (Dale) Miller of Hartville, Laurie (Keith) Jones of Anchorage, Alaska and Denise (Scott) Kelly of Wooster; grandchildren, Roger, Kyle, Travis, Taylor, Jessica, Cory, Cody, Amber, Colleen, Justin, Gina and Michelle; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolaras (Robert) Ignatowski of New Hampshire and Norma (Carmine) Munz of Connecticut.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Sharon Whitford.

Private family services will be held.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
