“Together Again”

Julia Rhamy, age 87, of Wooster Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 3 at Wooster Community Hospital.

Born April 18, 1934 to William and Beulah Bechtel, Julia grew up and spent her entire life as a resident of Wooster, a community she cherished, where she enjoyed spending time with so many wonderful, life-long friends.  She married the love of her life, the late Dwight J. Rhamy, on October 19, 1954, which, as she put it, was “the happiest day of her life”.  Theirs was truly a fairy tale love story for the ages.  Together they raised 4 beautiful children, Diane, Cristie, Rodney, and later, Jason.  Family was everything to them and they worked hard to provide their children with a good loving home, but they also found time for fun through horseback riding, golfing, ice skating, skiing, dancing and even camping, much of which they did with their children.

Julia also helped her mother in her downtown Wooster clothing store, The Beulah Bechtel Dress Shop, for many years, going on purchasing trips with her mother to New York and Chicago and helping so many women here find the perfect clothes.  She was so incredibly kind to others and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do to help her family and friends.

She also loved the dogs she and Dwight had over the years and was a proponent of the Humane Society, member of the Junior Women’s Club and even helped volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.

In their later years, Julia and Dwight continued their love story splitting their time between Wooster and The Villages in Florida, where they listened to music every day, enjoyed taking cruises. golfing and dancing the nights away, always together.  Their love always strong until the very end.

Julia is survived by her daughters, Diane Fishburn and Cristie Dice, her grandchildren, Jason Fishburn, Natasha Fishburn, Shawn Kaylor, Julia, Anna and Christian Dice and her great grandchildren, Winston and Jackson Kaylor.

Condolences

Diane, Cristie, Rodney, and Jason, although our families were not real close, I do remember the few times we did get together. My condolences for the loss of your Mom.....

We are sorry for your loss. Your mother was so full of life and joy. She and my mom (Lucy Breneman) were such good friends so we had the opportunity to see them in action, having fun, laughing lots, actually pretty ornery! The memories you posted brought back many of my memories and made me smile. There are people who can never be replaced, but because of that they can never be really lost. May the influence of your mother bring you joy, peace and good memories.
Linda and Dave

Judy (Julia) and Dwight were another set of parents to me. I spent a great deal of my childhood in their home with Jason, and I really felt I was part of their family. Her house was always absolutely pristine. As a child, I wouldn’t dare wear my shoes past the foyer. Judy lived life to the fullest. From golfing and skiing to baking stained glass ornaments, Judy embraced the fun and adventure. I’m grateful I got to spend time with her recently. My heart goes out to the entire family. My deepest condolences.

Our deepest sympathies to Judy's family. Our relationship goes back to school days which has been a long time ago. Also spent some time with she and Dwight here in Florida. Fun lady and cared a lot for family and friends. Will surely be missed.

Our deepest sympathy to Judy's family. We shared many mutual friends & rounds of golf so have many happy memories. WE hope your happy memories will help you through this difficult time and all the years to come.

I would like to extend my condolences to Judy's family. Judy and I were classmates.

Diane, I’m so sorry about your mom. I was fond of both of your parents. Beyond your mother’s passing, I hope you’re doing well.

I want to send heart-felt condolences from our family to yours.
Your mother was a wonderful friend and neighbor to my parents.
Judy and Mom would always find many topics of conversation.
Such a caring and happy person.
The family of Steve and Mary Wharton

Dave and I, including Lisa and Jeff, have been dearest friends for decades with Dwight and Judy. They impacted our lives more than can be said. We will miss them and express our deepest sympathy to Diane, Jason, Shawn and family, and Natasha. May she and Dwight rest in peace.
