WOOSTER – Katherine E. MEIER, 97, of Wooster, died Monday, June 30, 2008 in Smithville Western Care Center.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the Northview Alliance Church, 3464 Burbank Road, Wooster.
The praise service will be at the Northview Alliance Church Monday at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Regis Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the church.
Born November 16, 1910 in East Orange, New York she was the daughter of Duncan T. and Ellen McBride Cameron.
Mrs. Meier was a graduate of Nyack Missionary College in 1931. She spent over 30 years working for child evangelism in the Akron and Chicago areas and enjoyed working with children. Even in her latter years, she was keen witted and usely had an opinion. She was a treasured mother and wife who lived and taught by example. The Lord Jesus Christ was the most important person in her life and death.
She was a member of the Northview Alliance Church where she taught the primary age children in Sunday School for close to 40 years.
Surviving are son, Joseph (Irma) Meier of Oak Park, IL, daughter, Lois Meier of Island Lake, IL, daughter-in-law, Patricia Meier of Wooster; grandchildren Martita Meier and Lisa Meier, Janet Taylor, Monica Williams and Robert Williams; great granddaughters Hannah Williams and Alaina Williams, Grace Taylor, Lily Williams and a great grandson Isaiah Williams and a brother, Jack Cameron of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Meier, and a son John C. Meier and 2 sisters.
