WOOSTER – Kathy Linn Kaufman, 71, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.

Kathy Linn Kaufman grew up on a dairy farm outside of Wooster, Ohio. Kathy and Ed Schafrath raised 5 children on their Harmony Farm for 20 years. Kathy pursued a career as a RegisteredNurse until she retired in 2018.

Kathy was kind, patient, and fiercely devoted to her friends and family. She marked her presence with her laughter and quick wit. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Wanda Kaufman, and her brother, Kelly Kaufman.

Kathy is survived by her sister, Shawny Kaufman. Kathy and Shawny enjoyed a close lifelong bond and friendship- they filled each other's lives with love, support, and laughter.

Kathy gave unconditional love to her 5 children: Aaron Schafrath, Amy Rice, Joshua Schafrath, Zachary Schafrath, and Rachel Hoffee; her sons and daughters-in-law: Randy Rice, Julie Schafrath, Jennifer Schafrath, William Hoffee, and Brandy Musselman; and her 16 grandchildren: Mallory Ochoa, Larissa Michels, Devon Schafrath, Isaiah Schafrath, Maxwell Kane, Nicholas Michels, Sydney Rice, Isaac Michels, Jacob Kane, Aliana Rice, Virginia Schafrath, Sloane Hoffee, Cooper Schafrath, Margaret Schafrath, Finnegan Schafrath, and Henry Schafrath.

Kathy's family was her world and she dedicated her life to her grandchildren. Kathy was a musical person- she listened to music, played the guitar, ukulele, and piano, and taught her siblings, children and grandchildren how to play the piano. Kathy shared her love of music as she had a beautiful singing voice and could often be heard carrying a tune with a gentle hum. Kathy loved farming, cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, puzzles, playing cards, Snoopy, hiking, hunting mushrooms, riding her bicycle, going for a drive, attending mass, traveling with and spending time with her family, and being a grandmother.

Kathy lived the end of her life wrapped in the care, love, and warmth of her family and friends, and her loving and deeply devoted partner, Rich Brown.

My deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to her family.

Always a lovely smile. Kelly is waiting for you.

I always enjoyed her visits to the office. She always had a smile on her face and her laugh was contagious. I loved our conversations. I will miss you Kathy. My deepest condolences to her family.

Sincerest sympathy such a lovely
Lady.

I am so sorry to hear of her passing. We worked together at Burbank Parke. I loved working with her because of her humor and helpfulness. I share your grief, and understand it as I just lost my Mother May 31st. I am sorry I cannot make it to the wake, but know my heart, thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Can someone send me an address so that I can send the money for a Mass for her? My e-mail is: joanned4ever@yahoo.com. God bless and comfort all of you.

I was shocked to see this so soon after Kelly's passing. We shared many good times growing up. My deepest condolences to everyone. God bless and keep!

Rest in peace Kathy with your brother and mother.
