Kevin Ellsworth Bentz, 66, of Wooster passed away peacefully on Saturday November 14, 2020 after a lengthy illness in his home with family by his side.

He was born September 3, 1954 in Wooster to Ellsworth Bentz and Dorothy Patterson. On June 27, 1981 he married the love of his life, Mary Fields. Kevin served his country in the U.S. Air Force at Lackland AFB, Texas.

Kevin was the owner and operator of Kevin Bentz Builder of Custom Homes. In his younger years, Kevin was a DJ and a skilled carpenter. He loved growing dahlias, cruising Wooster in his beloved Jeep, and listening to Rock & Roll music. He especially loved spending time with his family and his dearest friends.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Mary Bentz, daughters April Herndon of GA, Anna (Zachary) Adams of Hinkley and Chelsey (Nathan Baker) Bentz of Wooster, a granddaughter Lillian Stromack and two grandchildren in GA.

Kevin was proceeded in death by his parents and step-mother, Iva Bentz.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 4:00-7:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.

  12. Sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing. I’ll always remember the time he rolled me around inside of a base drum in the 7th grade. I enjoyed talking to him when he brought his drone out to the farm 2 years ago to photograph the sunflowers. One Good guy!

  13. Dear family of an old family friend,
    As a child Kevin came to visit my parents and I at our little farm near Overton, Benny, Kevin’s dad, worked with my Dad at IP. We spent time talking and walking when they came over. I feel sad to learn of your loss. He will be remembered fondly. Cherish your memories. Deepest condolences.
