WOOSTER – Lauretta May Chittenden, 81, went to be with her Lord on July 31, 2009, at West View Manor Nursing Home.
Lauretta was born May 5, 1928 in Wayne Co to the late Edson and Mary Ellen (Clark) Myers. She lived all of her life in Wayne County.
She was a member of the Smithville Brethren Church in Smithville for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Robert R. Ross and Lawrence Chittenden. She was also preceded by siblings, Edson Myers, Charles Myers, Valeria Myers, Wilmer Myers, Ova Howell, Floyd Myers, Ralph Myers, Delta Myers, Ida Moody, Estella Morris and Ethel Robinson. Also preceded by a step-son, Ron Chittenden, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Surving are son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Ross of Apple Creek and daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Robert Chittenden, Janice and Wm. Kent Morrison, Patricia and James McGinnis all of Wooster. Step-children Nancy and David Jentes of Indiana and Lynne and Rick Logan of Mississippi, step-daughter-in-law Joan Chittenden of Missouri. She is also survived by a sister Ruby Eberhart of Brunswick and a sister-in-law, Connie Myers; 12 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the loving and caring staff of West View Manor Nursing Home who have taken such compassionate care of Lauretta for the past 3 years and Dr. James Bay for his personal care.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 721 E. Milltown Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 as she was a breast cancer survivor or to the Smithville Brethren Church, PO Box 345, Smithville, OH 44677.
Friends may call Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster from 6-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held Monday, August 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Art Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
