WOOSTER – Leona M. WILHELMY, 84, of Wooster, OH, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 in Country Pointe Nursing Home, Wooster.
She was born June 24, 1924 in Beaverdale, PA, son of Ernest and Alice Libertine Edwards.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in North Ridgeville. She loved flower gardening, baking, cooking and her special time was at Christmas with her family.
Surviving are her children, Diane W. (John) Spetrino of Morristown, NJ, Pamela W. (Terry) Murphy of Shaker Hgts, OH, Gary (Chris) Wilhelmy of Wooster, Donald E Jr. (Sue). Wilhelmy of N. Ridgeville and Thomas (Wendy) Wilhelmy of Lorain, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, Brothers, Bill Edwards of Xenia, OH and Gary Edwards of Beaverdale, PA, sister, Betty Popovich of Wickliffe, OH.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald E. Wilhelmy, on December 4, 2008 to whom she had been married 60 years, brother Ernest Edwards, Jr. and sisters Ethel Newman, Shirley May Edwards and Thelma Edwards.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 2-4:00 P.M and at St. Peters Catholic Church in North Ridgeville one hour prior to the service at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, OH 44039-3097 on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Father Doug Koesel as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery..
