WOOSTER “ LeRoy H. Curtis, 89, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
He was born February 3, 1929 in Alliance the son of LeRoy H., Sr. and Sarah Anne Watson Curtis.   He married Frances Barr on March 20, 1954.   She survives.
LeRoy was a graduate of Sebring McKinley High School and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from The Ohio State University, his Master of Divinity Degree from Boston College and his Master ™s in Education from Kent State University.   He was a former minister and educator at church ™s in Maine and Ohio (Arlington Methodist and Clark St. Methodist in Toledo and had taught at Apple Creek Elementary and Kean Elementary.   He was a long-time substitute teacher for Tri-County Schools, Medina Co. Schools and Stark Co. Schools and had served as Assistant Head Master at Old Trails School in Bath Twp.
LeRoy was a member of the Garfield Masonic Lodge in Shreve, Past High Priest of Wooster Chapter of the Masonic Lodge, Past Master of Valley College Grange, Member of Wayne Co. Pomona Grange, Member of Wooster Stamp Club, The Wilderness Center, The Wooster Coin Club and volunteered at Wooster Community Hospital.
LeRoy enjoyed good food, classical music, literature and had a love for the State of Maine.   He loved the outdoors, traveling, meeting people and working on his family tree.   He collected unique items and was an accomplished artist.
LeRoy proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Frances are his children, Lois (John) Immel and Michael Curtis both of Wooster and Steven Curtis of Marshallville; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, 3 special cousins and 4 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, a cousin and by his oldest grandson, Michael in November of 2017.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., Wooster with the Rev. David Rice officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staffs of LifeCare Hospice, Glendora Health Care Center and Wooster Community Hospital for the wonderful care given to LeRoy and special friend and nurse, Carol.
