Together Again
WOOSTER Lillian Jean Ann Moretti Massaro, 87, of Wooster passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and after having received the consolation of the Sacraments administered by Fr. Stephen Moran, pastor of St. Mary Parish, Wooster, Ohio, whom she loved dearly.
Lillian was born October 30, 1928 in Wooster, the daughter of Archangelo and Rozina DiScipio Moretti.
She was a homemaker and had been a payroll clerk at the International Paper Company.
Lillian will be remembered as the devoted wife of the late Donald Eugene Massaro, who preceded her in death in 2010 after 59 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her son, Christopher Massaro in 2011 and her siblings, Velma Marchovecchio, Donald Moretti, Elsie Cosentino, Cecilia DeCaro, Jeanie Culbertson in 2008, Rudolph Moretti in 2010, Florence Rose in 2014, Mary Rose and Raymond Moretti in 2016.
Lillian was the devoted mother to her children who survive, Judith Lang (Frank) of Marietta, Ohio, James Massaro, Michael (Rosemarie) Massaro, Charles Massaro all of Wooster; a daughter-in-law, Connie Massaro of Wooster. She was the devoted grandmother to Ryan, Andrew and Adam Lang and Eric (Courtney) Massaro and Jessica Santiago and the devoted great-grandmother to Alexis Christopher Santiago. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Dorothy (James Blough of South Carolina and Julia Grosjean of Wooster.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 4-6:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with the Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery.
Lillian will be remembered by her loving and gentle spirit. We are grateful to our mother for passing on to us our Catholic faith and teaching us with her gentle words of wisdom to Love One Another. She was very easy to please and loved nothing more than to spend time with family and to keep company with those she loved. With grateful hearts to God, we give thanks for the life of our dear mother, Lillian.
