WOOSTER – Lowell D Garver, 82, of Wooster passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 in Mercy Medical Center in Canton. .
He was born March 24, 1927 in Lodi, the son of Merle Russell and Elva Faye Kaser Garver. Lowell married Betty Lemon Garver in 1954. She preceded him in death October 1986. He married Pauline Hartley Conrad Garver in August of 1987.
Lowell worked at Rubbermaid for 36 years, retiring in January of 1989. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served in the Wooster Congretation for over 38 years. His confidence was in God’s Kingdom promises found in the Bible, such as Isaiah 25:8 He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. This hope sustained him through many trails, and he found delight in sharing this with others.
Lowell was a kind, generous and hard working man. He was a good husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Pauliine, is a son Jerry of Ashland; step-children Daniel (Betty) Miller, Joe Conrad and Lori (Nigel) Gurney all of Wooster; step-grandchildren Ray and Walter (Michelle) Miller, Josh (Ana) Conrad, Chrissy and Joey Conrad and five step-great-grandchildren and his former wife, Beulah Garver.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Diane Whitlock, sisters Marjorie Becker and Violet Garver and a brother Merlin.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-9:00 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. A Memorial service will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3233 Akron Road, Wooster with Mr. Carey Ball officiating.
